The V International conference on photonics and information optics was carried in February 3-5, 2016. Conference themes: coherent and nonlinear optics, fiber and integrated optics, optics of crystals and acousto-optics, interaction of radiation with matter and optical materials, nano- ana biophotonics, holography and digital optics, optical communication and optoelectronic data processing, element base and applied photonics. The program included 224 reports of scientists from NRNU MEPhI, from the organizations of the Moscow region (MSU, MIPT, NUST «MISIS», PFUR, MIREA, Bauman MSTU, MPEI, MAI, MSUT «Stankin», MAMI, MSPU, LPI RAS, GPI RAS, IRE RAS, IC RAS, FORC RAS, SRISA RAS, STS UI RAS, IS RAS, SRPCI, SRTI «Technomach», NLC «Astrophysika», et. al.), from the organizations from the other cities of Russia (Saint-Petersburg (SPb SU, SPb PU, SPb SUAI, SPb SETU «LETI», SPb NRU ITMO, Hersen RSPU, Ioffe PTI RAS, NII «Vector», et. al.), Kaliningrad (BFSU, KSTU), Tver (TvSU), Yaroslavl (YaSPU), Vladimir (VlSU), Nizhny Novgorod (NNSU, IAP RAS), Saransk (MorSU), Voronezh (VAIU), Taganrog (SFU), Simferopol (KFU), Krasnodar (KubSU), Saratov (Saratov SU, IPMC RAS), Ulyanovsk (UlSU), Samara (SamSU, SSAU), Perm (PSNRU), Kazan (KVFU), Krasnoyarsk (KSMU), Tomsk (TGU, TUSUR), Novosibirsk (IAE SB RAS, SSUGT), Irkutsk (ISMU, ISTU), Khabarovsk (FESTU, PNU), Vladivostok (FEFU, IASP FEB RAS), etc., and from universities and institutes of NAS of Republic of Belarus (Minsk, Grodno, Mozyr) Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek) and Republic of Kazakhstan (Astana) from groups of the Russian scientists in cooperation with scientists from European Union and USA. In total there were reports from 130 organizations, from them from 54 higher education institutes, 30 institutes of the RAS, 12 scientific research institutes, 12 scientific production organizations and 22 foreign organizations). The proceedings of conference were published and distributed among participants and guests of conference.

The conference included 10 meetings in total: 2 plenary sessions and 8 section meetings, also 2 poster sessions took place. Languages of conference – Russian and English. Among the participants and guests of the conference were representatives of educational, scientific and industrial organizations of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, Finland and China. Languages of conference – Russian and English. Best reports were recommended for publication in the form of papers in the reviewed magazines entering the bulletin of VAK and Web of Science, Scopus ana RISC.

The V International conference on photonics and information optics carried on traditions of the forums held under the auspices of Scientific sessions of MEPhI since 2000: broad coverage of participants and perspectives and involvement of students and young scientists. Considering relevance and importance of researches on this subject, need of an exchange of new ideas and methods between experts both in the Russian Federation, and at the international level, a great interest to conference not only among scientists of the CIS, but also in Europe and Asia. Participants of conference supported holding of VI International conference on photonics and information optics in NRPU MEPhI under the auspices of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in 2016.
